The name, Womb With a View, has a double and very pertinent meaning. First, I am a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) of 26 years. This means the vast majority of my career lends itself to viewing the womb. Secondly, as a woman with a twice-inhabited uterus myself, this blog represents my viewpoint of motherhood and my experiences in the field of Ultrasound.

I created this blog to be fun and informative, providing a wealth of knowledge with a bit of humor for the expectant mother. Hopefully, it is a source of comfort for those moms who are desperately seeking baby and hit a few bumps along the way. Whatever the case, you have a million questions about ultrasound, and I have spent my entire career answering them. And who better to answer them than a veteran sonographer? Here, you’ll discover accurate ultrasound information despite the sea of myths from web-surfing or meddling friends and family. (Funny how the ones with the most opinion aren’t even members of the medical community?!)

Why the anonymity? I feel it is of ultimate importance that my blog and views not reflect that of the private practice I was committed to for so many years. I’m sure, as a likely patient yourself, you can understand!

Email your humorous stories or burning questions and feel free to share your images (Sorry! I can’t attempt to give you a second opinion on fetal sex if you are less than 18wks!).

This blog is dedicated to my daughters who have made motherhood worth every ache and labor pain. Also, to my husband for his love, support, and patience when I spend hours pecking on my Mac or iPad! And, of course, this blog is written for YOU, all the moms out in the big expanse of universe who crave accurate ultrasound info. You’ve created a platform and an urge for me to share my knowledge with you.

Many blessings to you for a healthy and happy pregnancy!
